The N.C. Museum of History in downtown Raleigh offers a regular series of children's programs each month. I write about them from time to time, but it's been a while, so I thought I'd share what's coming up in March.
Registration is required for both. Here's what's on the schedule:
- 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., March 6 or March 13, Time for Tots: Saint Patrick's Day. Discover the history, foodways and traditions of Saint Patrick’s Day, a holiday observed by the Irish for 1,000 years. Then make a take-home craft to give you the luck of the Irish! For ages 3 to 5 with adult. Fee is $1 per person.
- 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., March 7, History Hunters: Greetings from North Carolina. Before Facebook and Skype, how did you say, “Wish you were here!” when you vacationed? Learn about North Carolina holiday spots, get a bit of postcard history, and make your own postcard. For ages 10 to 13. Fee is $1 per person.
To register, call 919-807-7992.
