Kidzu plans special art, cooking events this month

Kidzu teams up with FRANK Gallery and Butternut Squash for a couple of events this month.

Kidzu Children's Museum in Chapel Hill is teaming up with FRANK Gallery and Butternut Squash for programs in the next couple of weeks.

Here's what's scheduled:

  • 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Feb. 16: Kidzu's Community Crossing with FRANK Gallery. Join Kidzu for a tour of FRANK Gallery's current exhibition, Body and Soul, with exhibiting artist, Sandy Milroy. Sandy is a local mixed-media artist who uses handmade papers and acrylic paint in her abstract compositions. Get up close and personal with original artwork and an artist as we look, discuss, and create! Meet at FRANK Gallery, finish up in the Kidoodle Moodle Art Studio in Kidzu.   • 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., Feb. 27: Kids in the Kitchen with Butternut Squash. Kidzu and local restaurant, Butternut Squash, are teaming up for an exciting hands-on food workshop. The professionals at Butternut Squash will lead an interactive workshop. We will be learning about various fruits and vegetables and how to use them to create a delicious and healthy soup. Program will be held at Butternut Squash at 133E West Franklin St. in Chapel Hill. The cost is $12 per child for kids ages 4 to 8. Registration required.
