Fresh Beat Band sells out quickly, future date possible

There are plenty of disappointed kids and parents after tickets sold out very quickly for the Fresh Beat Band concert in Durham in April.

We had a lot of discussion on Facebook this week (and in my inbox) about just how quickly tickets for the very popular Fresh Beat Band concert at the Durham Performing Arts Center sold out.

The band, Nickelodeon's popular preschool music group and stars of the hit TV series of the same name, will stop at the Durham Performing Arts Center on April 5. Tickets went on sale back in mid-November. We actually offered an early ticket deal. And from what I understand, they sold out pretty quickly after that.

"The cheapest tickets were sold out during the pre-sale," wrote one fan on Go Ask Mom's Facebook page. "I couldn't get three tickets together and had to go to the next ticket price. By the next day, I think, they were all gone."
Some Facebook fans noted that they've seen very expensive tickets from online ticket sellers. It should be noted that DPAC filed a notice with the N.C. Secretary of State on Dec. 7 prohibiting the online resale of admission tickets to this event. Click here to see the official notice.

Of course, that doesn't help disappointed fans who want to see the show. One reader emailed me with the hopes that she could start an online petition to add a second show, as the band has done in other cities.

According to Rachel Gragg, DPAC's senior director of marketing, those aren't in the cards right now.

"We did propose adding another show but were turned down by Fresh Beat’s booking agency," Gragg emailed me. "They hope to schedule another performance in the area later this year, so stay tuned."
