Games can be great stocking filler. Weisbrodt has a few she really likes this season. Here's what she recommends:
- IQ Mindbenders and BrainQuest Cards test your "useable" knowledge
- Professor Noggins card games quiz you on subjects such as the human body, rainforest, ocean, U.S. geography and history, as well as ancient Greece, Rome and mythology. Subjects are fun and interesting.
- Nine piece Squzzle puzzles will drive you nuts with ONLY nine pieces. There are a dozen different styles with three puzzles in a box for only $4.99. Squzzles are recommended for 6 years of age and up, but believe me they will challenge the "up age" in all of us.
- The Tantrix Perpetual Puzzle and the Happy Cube puzzles come in four different skill levels.
"There are also games such as Spot It, Find It, Zip It, and many others that will challenge all who want to join in," she says. "Some are played with single players and others are fun as a group. We are all game players here at 'teach me' and have tried most everything we offer. We'd love to share our love of the play."
In addition to games, I also found some astronaut ice cream and fake snow for my older daughter and, for my younger daughter, a set of rolling pins with shapes in them for play dough and and a smock for painting.
