Help a Mom: What toys do your kids play with?

What toys do your kids actually play with? What toys are really worth the money?

As many of us wrap up our Christmas shopping (or perhaps just begin it), I thought I'd pose the question this week.

We have plenty of toys at my house, but I find that my kids only play with a handful of them. So my question to readers this week is this: What toys do your kids actually play with? What toys are really worth the money?

Here's what my two-year-old and/or six-year-old daughters play with inside my house: Wooden blocks; dress-up clothes; magnetic drawing board (like this); small, inexpensive keyboard; puzzles; and the games Uno, Pictureka, Blockus and a box with checkers, chess, Chinese checkers and other games. Our bikes, scooter, jump ropes, balls and wagon get a lot of use outside.

We have other things that they play with from time to time, but these are the ones that get the most use. I would have never guessed that the drawing board would have been so popular, but my older daughter plays countless games of hangman on it and my younger one likes to scribble and erase.

So what's popular at your house?
