Sandbox band performs two holiday concerts this weekend

Posted December 5, 2011

The Sandbox kids and family band has two concerts coming up this weekend where they'll be playing holiday songs, including some selections from their Christmas album.

The band is part of Morehead Planetarium and Science Center's holiday concert series from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, in Chapel Hill. They'll play under the "stars" of the planetarium. There also will be hot chocolate and cookies. Tickets are $12 for the general public. Click here for details.

And it's in the line up for Pullen Park's Holiday Express, which features a lighted train ride, carousel ride, visits with Santa and more. Sandbox will perform from 5 p.m to 6 p.m., Sunday. UPDATE: Pullen's Holiday Express is sold out!

Sandbox always performs a fun show, with their, often twangy, spin on classics and their on-stage chatter. They sang from their Christmas album for Go Ask Mom last year. Watch the videos to hear them sing a couple of songs!
