SmartMomma, Babiology planning Black Friday events

The two locally owned stores are offering shoppers some special discounts this weekend.

A couple of local kids and baby stores emailed me their Black Friday sales plans and I wanted to pass them along.

SmartMomma in north Raleigh is having a big sale this Friday through Monday. The store will be offering discounts on all kinds of items, including furniture, strollers, swings, toys, apparel, and more. Click here for details and sales information.

And on Saturday, if you register your American Express card on the Small Business Saturday Facebook page, you will get a $25 statement credit for shopping with small businesses that day, including SmartMomma.

Mark your calendars: SmartMomma will be hosting Cookies with Santa from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Dec. 10. They'll have refreshments. Bring your camera to get a picture with Santa. It's free.

And at Babiology, the store in Five Points, all consignment clothing will be 50 percent off on Friday. The store, which also recently began carrying toys and higher-end maternity clothes, will open at 10 a.m., Friday.

The store also is taking reservations for a silhouette artist, who will be at Babiology on Dec. 13. Prices are $25 for the first silhouette and $10 for every additional one. Call Babiology at 919-834-0014 for an appointment. Spaces fill up fast.
