Get your DVRs ready! Frosty, Rudolph, more holiday classics scheduled

The Christmas season isn't complete in my house without at least one viewing of some Christmas classics - "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Frosty the Snowman," "A Charlie Brown Christmas," and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," among them.

About now, as I gear up to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, is when I start wondering when the other holiday shows will air so I can fire up my DVR to record them. In the past, I've relied primarily on TV Guide's calendar, though I've found it lacking this year ... so far. More shows might be added to it. There are some other websites where you can find many, many listings already.

Here they are:

TV Guide's Holiday TV Guide

ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas. The countdown to those 25 days starts on Sunday.

Hallmark Channel's holiday schedule

It's a Wonderful Movie blog (which appears to be among the most comprehensive)

Too bad they don't show the "Claymation Christmas Celebration." Nothing says Christmas like "Carol of the Bells" and The California Raisins singing "Rudolph."

Yes the Little Drummer Boy is a favorite of mine and I have a copy. I have loved that program since I was a child and every time I see it reminds me of how wonderful God's love for us is.

Why bother trying to catch these movies on tv when you can just head to any retail store and buy them on DVD..?

What is the movie called that has "Heat Mizer" in it?

"Rudolph" is my favorite and I am delighted to now know when I will enjoy this Christmas classic.
