Made by Mom Gift Guide: Dimples BBQ Sauce adds fans with sweet, tomato-based concoction

Posted November 9, 2011

I featured Jan Campana of Dimples BBQ Sauce back in June. The mom of two in north Raleigh had recently begun bottling up her sweet, tomato-based barbecue sauce and was winning awards with it. Click here to read the earlier post and watch the video from my interview with her in June.

I'm featuring her again as part of our Made by Mom Gift Guide. Campana tells me she's continued to rack up the awards and good reviews since we last heard from her. Jan Campana Love of barbecue sauce turns into business for mom

Dimples was in the top ten in the Gettin' Sauced Contest in Austin. It also is getting all kinds of interest in the world of barbecue loving bloggers. They include a Kansas City Barbecue Society Judge and a Catawba College lecturer and writer. And, thanks to that Go Ask Mom post back in June, a Canadian reviewer even got his hands on it and loved the sauce.

Dimples is now available at seven local stores and online on Dimples' website. Campana also has been involved in some other fundraisers and events in the area. You can sample the sauce from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, at the NC General Store in Wake Forest.

Campana tells me she'd love for folks to share their recipes and photos using Dimples on their new Facebook page.

And she's offering Go Ask Mom readers a discount through Jan. 31! Get 20 percent of your Dimples online order. Just use the code word GoAskMom in the coupon box.

Dimples BBQ Sauce is part of our 2011 Made by Mom Gift Guide. We'll be featuring local moms and the products they create twice a week starting this week. We started with Tiny Peepers on Monday. Happy shopping!
