I know this series is usually called "Help a Mom," but this week, our question comes from a dad who I met at the Fox 50 Family Fest a few weeks ago.

He has custody of his son, who lives a couple of hours from the Triangle, every other weekend. He is looking for a sports program that he can sign his grade schooler up for on the weekends that he's with him.

Because the child is in town every other weekend, it might be difficult for him to be part of a team since he'd miss so many practices and games. But I thought that maybe he could be part of a skills class. I did check in with a couple of programs in the area and found that Polar Ice House with locations in Cary, Wake Forest and Garner can prorate its programs for a child who is in town only every other weekend. MVP Sports Factory in Wake Forest can do the same.

If you're aware of sports teams or programs (or any program for that matter because I'm sure there are other parents out there wondering the same thing about art classes, dance classes, etc.), please share.

Go Ask Mom poses reader questions every Wednesday. If you have a question, click here to email it.
