I've added some new events and more description to more than a dozen events on our Halloween and fall fun database, which now includes more than 110 listings.

Among the additions:

Gillis Hill Road Produce in Fayetteville has a spin on the corn maze. Facts about famous people, famous firsts and North Carolina symbols are scattered through the maze, which is geared toward kids ages 3 to 12. The maze includes 17 questions and four educational boards filled with facts about North Carolina. Gillis Hill is at 2899 Gillis Hill Rd. in Fayetteville. It's open 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays. Tickets are $2 for adults and $4 for kids ages 3 to 12 with a paying adult. The maze runs through Oct. 31.
Marbles Kids Museum is holding a Kooky Spooky Halloween Party on Oct. 29 with some no-so-scary special events for families. Pre-registration is required. Costumes are encouraged.
Darkside Haunted Estates, the very scary haunted house about seven miles from Five County Stadium in Zebulon, will have a low scare night for kids from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 30.
And, in Smithfield, Lazy O Farm's Maze Dayz has started. It's open to the public on weekends. Groups can make appointments for weekday tours. Lazy O is at 3583 Packing Plant Rd. in Smithfield. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 30.
