I wanted to bring your attention to an effort local blog Pretty Swell, written by a Raleigh mom, has launched to help raise money for a Raleigh family that has suffered some horrible losses recently.

The family was visiting family in Nevada when mom Hope went into labor at just 21 weeks with her twin girls. Abigail was stillborn. Zaria was in the newborn intensive care unit for just more than a month, but ultimately died on Sunday morning.

The family had to break their lease here in North Carolina, move their belongings into temporary storage and put their pets, including a flock of chickens, in foster care. The family, which also includes two older children, plans to return to Raleigh soon.

Pretty Swell is raising money to help pay for hospital expenses, lost income and mounting expense back home by holding a fundraiser. There are all kinds of great prizes, including a Svan high chair, Petunia Pickle Bottom tote and lots of gift certificates.

The fundraiser ends on Sept. 20.
