Six locations across the Triangle offer regular storytimes and events.

The Durham store offers Preschool Playcraft for ages 2 to 5 from 11 a.m. to noon Monday-Thursdays. Cost is $5 for the first child and $4 for each additional child.

Toddlers and preschoolers especially love Poly, Ester and the lovable Bartlet, who appear on some Wednesdays and Thursdays at ComedyWorx, Peace Street, Raleigh. They also perform at 10 a.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at Holly Springs Cultural Center, 300 W. Ballentine St., Holly Springs.

The Chapel Hill toy store has a storytime from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday.

Huntington Learning Center hosts a monthly storytime at the Cary restaurant on a weekday morning. Check the website for the current schedule.

Known for his zany magic and balloons, he appeals to families with children 7 and under. Find Dan at Champps, Triangle Town Center, from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays; San Jose Mexican Restaurant from 6-8 p.m., Wednesdays; and Rudy's Pub & Grill, Apex, from 6-8 p.m. Thursdays.

The home improvement giant offers free kids workshops from 9 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday of each month at all its stores.

The Raleigh bookstore offers a regular 10 a.m. Monday storytime, along with regular special events featuring popular children's authors.
