Wake County's library system features some of the busiest branches in the state. The system has 20 locations across the county, including five, larger regional libraries. All libraries have regular programs for children.
The Chapel Hill Public Library features a variety of programs for kids and families.
Durham County's main branch is on North Roxboro Street in downtown Durham. Another half dozen locations are scattered around the county. All locations have regular programs for kids.
Johnston County has library locations across the county with special programs for kids.
Orange County Public Libraries is based in Hillsborough with locations in Carroboro.
