Susan Ely's culinary experience began in the 80’s when she owned and operated a small, wholesale bakery called “The Dainty Morsel.” While employed at Very Vera in Augusta, GA, she launched and managed a gourmet to go division.

Currently based in Raleigh, Susan writes food related articles for Cary Living, Pinehurst Magazine, Midtown Magazine and Women’s Edge. She also writes dining guides for the custom publishing division of Our State magazine.
