Got plans to celebrate Halloween with the kids? As the witching hour approaches, the spirit of fun is spreading its wings across the Triangle. If you're looking for age-appropriate entertainment, you'll find a range, from Frightful Haunts (ghostly offerings designed to send you scurrying for your mummy) to Not-So-Scary Events for Little Boys and Ghouls.
On Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Kidzu Children’s Museum in Chapel Hill, is featuring a Halloween Spooktacular Event with stories, fun crafts, games and prizes! On Friday and Saturday, enjoy the Polar Ice House's Spooky Skating events.
On Saturday, celebrate a Creepy Crawly Halloween at the North Carolina Botanical Garden, in Chapel Hill. Or explore things that go bump in the night at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences’ Natural History Halloween celebration, in downtown Raleigh. For a magical musical twist, there’s even an opportunity to watch a conductor and his apprentice try to control a phantom orchestra as N.C. Symphony presents "The Phantom of the Orchestra," also on Saturday.
Marbles Kids Museum is hosting Halloween fun on Saturday and Sunday, when young ghouls, goblins, pirates and princesses are invited to dress up and creep on over for a ghastly good time at the museum in downtown Raleigh. Kids can join Marbles’ costume parade each day at 1 p.m., listen to ghost stories by the Tarheel Tale Tellers 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, and take part in Halloween activities all weekend.
