My family (October 2006)

I'm New here

I’m new here.
I’m new to this job, new to this city and new to this state.
I’m also new to steep hills constantly reminding me of my lack of endurance, streets that curve every 10 seconds therefore requiring me to look straight ahead while I drive and Walgreen’s stores that close at 10pm.

What’s a girl to do when she suddenly realizes she needs milk, diapers or bread after 11pm? Well, I recently found out that his name is Harris Teeter and he stays open all day and all night. Just for me.

Whew!
Now where was I?
Oh, I’m also new to neighbors who wave as they drive by, strangers who hold the doors open at the mall and access to more than one grocery store chain with good deals on boneless chicken breasts.

I’m the mother of two, so I’m new to year-round schools. (More to come on that subject, later.)
Overall, it’s been an interesting month and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
For the record, I was born in Michigan, attended college in Ohio and have lived and worked in Cleveland, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.

My Florida house is currently up for sale, and we’re learning the hard way that this is definitely NOT a sellers market.

My plan is to share a lot here, so I hope you’re up for it.
And if you’re really feeling generous, please clue me in as to where I can find a great batch of chicken wings. My husband is a serious wing addict, and since he did move here for me, I think it’s the least I can do.

HEY! WELCOME TO THE BEAUTIFUL NORTH CAROLINA. ABOUT THIS WING SITUATION, TRY GOING TO ZAXBY'S THEIR WINGS ARE TO DIE FOR. WALMART IS THE PLACE TO GO IF YOU EVER NEED A MIDNIGHT SHOPPING SPREE OUTBURST! WELCOME AND GOOD LUCK AND HOPE YOUR KIDS HAVE A GREAT TIME HERE, AS WELL AS YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND. IT'S A GREAT FAMILY PALCE.

Welcome to beautiful NC!! Now about those wings, I have 2 suggestions 1.) Zaxby's-there are several locations around the area and they are really good wings. 2.) Ba-Da Wings on Avent Ferry Road in the shopping center. They are giving Zaxby's a run for their money.

The N&O had a story on wings recently complete with a listing of some places, their specialty, and reviews...pretty comprehensive for the wing enthusiast. Maybe you can find the article on line??? But.....now that you live in Carolina, better check out our Eastern Carolina style barbeque. Bet you will learn to like it.

Welcome and get ready for the crazy weather. Just think you are only a few hours from the beach and a few hours from the mountians where you can go and pick out your Christmas tree when the time is right.

Chipotle wings at Blinco's are my fav! Try em...a bit different than the hot sauce wings, but definitely worth a trip..and for the sports fan..this is the best place...kid friendly, too. I take my hubby and 3 kids and we love it.

anything with SUPER in front of the store name (K or Wal Mart, Target, etc.) are good places for after hour shopping.

Welcome and GL!

WELCOME TO THE AREA! I CAN'T HELP WITH THE WING SITUATION IN YOUR AREA, BUT I SURE AM THANKFUL FOR FAITHFUL BLOG WRITTERS.
