I’m new here.
I’m new to this job, new to this city and new to this state.
I’m also new to steep hills constantly reminding me of my lack of endurance, streets that curve every 10 seconds therefore requiring me to look straight ahead while I drive and Walgreen’s stores that close at 10pm.
What’s a girl to do when she suddenly realizes she needs milk, diapers or bread after 11pm? Well, I recently found out that his name is Harris Teeter and he stays open all day and all night. Just for me.
Whew!
Now where was I?
Oh, I’m also new to neighbors who wave as they drive by, strangers who hold the doors open at the mall and access to more than one grocery store chain with good deals on boneless chicken breasts.
I’m the mother of two, so I’m new to year-round schools. (More to come on that subject, later.)
Overall, it’s been an interesting month and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
For the record, I was born in Michigan, attended college in Ohio and have lived and worked in Cleveland, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.
My Florida house is currently up for sale, and we’re learning the hard way that this is definitely NOT a sellers market.
My plan is to share a lot here, so I hope you’re up for it.
And if you’re really feeling generous, please clue me in as to where I can find a great batch of chicken wings. My husband is a serious wing addict, and since he did move here for me, I think it’s the least I can do.
