New experiences
This past weekend was both productive and fun. My husband and I managed to get about six loads of laundry done, although we still have some to fold, and we watched the kids do a few new things.
Campbell has become quite aware that there's more to explore in the house than just what's at eye level. Yep, she's gone vertical! She's been pulling chairs up to the countertops for more than a year, that's not a big deal. But now, she's taken it to a whole new level. I came into the kitchen to find her STANDING on top of the counter, getting into the cabinet with all the baking goods in it. She had the most sly little smile on her face. What a stinker! She's also learned to climb on the kitchen island WITHOUT a chair. Yeah, not good. I'm afraid I may have started that. I've been letting her play on the island with some flour and measuring spoons and cups. Yeah, it gets a bit messy but she loves it. She'll measure flour for half an hour while I'm making dinner.
I also busted her in the pantry, with the door closed, trying to sneak into a bag of chips. She looked at me very sweetly and said, "Please mom, just one chip"! Let's just say there's a lock on that door now.
Caiden is crawling all around the house, but he's still just pulling himself along by his arms. Who needs a swiffer when you have a baby dragging his belly all around the floor! :-) His belly gets airborne every once in a while, but not very often. Yesterday, he slithered over to the toy box and for the first time, pulled himself up to standing! I was shocked because he's still very wobbly. My husband and I just looked at each other with big, goofy grins. Ain't parenthood grand!!!!
