Caiden gets tubes
The morning of the surgery arrived and I was so afraid Caiden would be fussy since he couldn't eat. But he was a good boy, empty stomach, infected ears and all. I had no idea they made hospital gowns that small! I was nervous about the procedure even though it's a very simple one. Just the thought of my baby lying on a table , under anesthesia, was a little hard to take. But I handed him off to the Doctor and headed for the waiting room with my husband. Less than 10 minutes after I sat down, the Doctor came walking out. I thought no way is he done! But he was. It was that quick. I quickly walked back to recovery and there was my son, crying in the arms of a nurse. It's amazing how pitiful and helpless they can look. I couldn't wait to take him into my arms. A few minutes later I looked and my husband and said, Oh, did you want to hold him? He said oh no, I wouldn't dare take him from you. He was right. I wouldn't have given him up.
He calmed down a little bit after I fed him. But he cried pretty much the whole way home. I thought, oh, what a day this was going to be. Although I was prepared to hold him the whole day if I needed to. He's such a sweetheart I couldn't bear to think of him hurting. He took a two hour nap when we got home and was a new baby. He's been great ever since....
