A good Mommy day!
Normally my days are pretty hectic. I hit the ground running at 2:15am and don't stop until 8:00pm. My backside doesn't see the sofa until the weekend! But a couple of days ago I had one of those, "I got a lot accomplished, the kids didn't cry and it's great to be a mommy" days. Don't get me wrong, every day I'm thankful for being a mother, but there are those days when you kinda feel like pulling your hair out. Daycare was closed this particular day. My sister watched the kids until I could get home at 1:30. I'd made up my mind I was going to make some snack bars to take to daycare the next day. That was my only goal. As soon as I got home I put Caiden to sleep. One down, one to go. Campbell pretty much refuses naps now. My work was cut out for me but I was determined. I was trying to get Campbell to stay in her room when I heard Caiden start crying. What was that all about? I know I can't hurry Campbell because she can smell a rush job a mile away. I finally convinced her that she didn't necessarily have to sleep in her room but she could play or read books. So I managed to walk out of her room without her throwing herself, screaming at the door. And low and behold, Caiden had magically stopped crying at that point. Two quiet kids in their rooms: score one for Mom!!!
For the next hour Campbell played in her room and Caiden slept. I made two batches of snack bars for daycare and even cleaned up all the pots and bowls afterwards. I was on a roll now!!! Than Campbell had had enough and started beating on her door. I was scared to death to go in her room. The last "nap" she'd put diaper rash ointment all over the wall. I walked in and the only thing out of place were her clothes...she wasn't wearing any! I felt pretty fortunate. Caiden ended up sleeping for another hour and a half. I had time to pick out my outfit for the next day, make dinner and clean up the kitchen. By the time my husband got home the kids were in the bathtub and I was feeling pretty proud of myself and stress free!! It's good to be a mom...........
