Ringing with joy
We were all in the room, J and I had that casual chit chat you have with people. It was really pleasant and nice, very comfortable. Before the call, she asked the therapist if we were as nervous as she was, so I know she was feeling a lot of the fear we were feeling. Getting past that to find a nice pleasant place was great.
HH made a list of things to share and she had a good time going through all of them. HH wasn't shy, which made this all so much easier. She just giggled along. J thought she sounded fantastic and was a great sport in talking about whatever HH wanted to chat about.
We did give J the option of bringing HH's birthmother in on the call but J told the therapist that she just didn't think it was a good idea right now. Based on the letters I have received recently, I don't know if she was ready to be appropriate right now either. J knew how to keep this all about HH and what HH wants to know, not pushing any agenda or trying to get private information from us.
We will definitely be doing this again, hopefully a monthly or every other month thing. This was a big step forward for us and I'm so happy. When scary things go well, it is such a relief. I wanted to hug J for giving HH all this good love!
HH had no bounce back problems later. She was chipper through out the day and had a great basketball game that night (10 points - woo hoo!).
