Leaving Her
Boy am I lucky. Last week was my first week back at work and I didn't have to drop Reese at daycare. Her daddy is in the process of starting a new business. He will be able to work only afternoons and that means he can keep her in the mornings and I'll keep her in the afternoons. So many moms talk about how hard that first day back is. Well, it was hard but not in the same way. Everything takes 4 times as long once you have a baby. I don't think I could function at all with two kids!!! He he.
Sunday night I had planned to go to bed at 8. I actually made it there at 10. I am getting up 30 minutes earlier now so that meant I got 4 ½ hours of sleep that night. I did a little better the rest of the week. Reese was so cute when I got home that first day. She was waking up and when she saw me she gave me a big smile and wiggled all over. Motherhood has made me more domestic. I planned dinner for the next three weeks. We'll see how long that lasts. We are notorious for going out to eat. It is extremely hard to get everything done in the evening in time to go to bed at 8pm.
It's certainly not Reese's fault. She has to be the best baby on the planet. She only fusses if she's hungry or sleepy. She's going to bed around 9pm and getting up only once between 3 and 4. These days it seems like any minute she's going to get up and walk and have a conversation with us. She's trying hard to talk with lots of cooing and she's really flailing her arms a legs around a lot now. I know it won't be long....at least it won't seem that way. When I left this morning her daddy was giving her a bottle and she stared at me as I walked out the door. Talk about hard to leave....
