Lejeune Marine killed in Afghanistan

— A Camp Lejeune Marine was killed Wednesday in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Thursday.

Cpl. Adam D. Jones, 29, of Germantown, Ohio, died while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, officials said.

Jones was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force.

    my prayers are with his family. Its so sad to see these men and women at very young ages die. Have their whole life ahead of them. If they were pulled out and brought home a lot of these deaths wouldn't have happened, they would have been hope safe and sound. God Bless our military and their families.

    I'm appalled at how common it has become to see such a small blurb about our brave military warriors dying in combat.
