Lejeune Marine killed in Afghanistan

— A Camp Lejeune Marine died Wednesday in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Friday.

Lance Cpl. Terry E. Honeycutt Jr., 19, of Waldorf, Md., died of wounds received Oct. 21 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, officials said.

Honeycutt was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force.

    pdolan6.. and worlord.....I could not agree with you more. It has become a ho-hum story. No more weekly, monthly body counts. That is bad politics.
    I wonder other than his one photo op at Dover AFB. well over a year ago, whether the Czar in-chief or foot 'n mouth VP has been back to be with the families when the bodies of our heroes come home.
    Condolences to the family & friends of this 19 year old hero, who has been sacrificed for a poppy growing, rock pile in a 13th century foreign land

    I agree with that statement about deaths not making the news as much because knowing what lindsey lohan , charlie sheen and randy quiad have going on is more important. It's a shame that the news doesn't keep thses sacrifices in the forefront of the news EVERYDAY. Seems as if it's at a "by the way" level now.

    A dozen, brave Marines have died in Afghanistan recently. Quite a bit of nasty fighting going on over there in past three weeks, but it seems little of our troop's sacrifices makes the news now days.
