I don't buy this either. You would expect him to be a man of honor to advance as far as he has. Honor means doing the right thing even if no one is looking.

What'd he do...eat a couple of grapes while walking thru the produce section?

"I just don't buy this. I bet it was something stupid, like they were in the bottom of the cart and some bags got put over them. I highly doubt this man intentionally shoplifted.."

I could see it being something like that...He walks out with some junk in the bottom of his cart. The store calls the cops. The cops confront him. He explains the mistake, they still give him a hard time, he has a few words with the cops, they cuff him because they can.

I'm betting the charges will be dropped.

Sad - whatever happened/happens the man's career is ruined at worse, tarnished at least. Who knows how this will eventually play out as to what he is accused of doing?

So now I suppose he'll lose his command, retire and join the Obama Cabinet.

you don't reckon he ate some grapes in the produce isle do you? It could take a day or so to produce the evidence. :)

I had a dentist that once did this. I think it is the Wynonna Rider type situation in which a person has the means to pay but is looking for a cheap thrill of getting away with something.
