Lejeune-based sailor killed in Afghanistan

A U.S. Navy hospital corpsman based at Camp Lejeune was killed in combat in Afghanistan Friday, the military announced.

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — A U.S. Navy hospital corpsman based at Camp Lejeune was killed in combat in Afghanistan Friday, the military announced.

Petty Officer 3rd Class James M. Swink, 20, of Yucca Valley, Calif., died in the Helmand Province.

Swink served with the 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Forces.
