Lee County school board names new superintendent

The Lee County Board of Education on Tuesday approved a contract for a new superintendent who will start July 1.

SANFORD, N.C. — The Lee County Board of Education on Tuesday approved a contract for a new superintendent who will start July 1.

Andy Bryan, who currently serves as associate superintendent for the school district, will replace Jeff Moss, who will become the Beaufort County, S.C., school superintendent July 1.

Bryan’s contract is four years. His salary was not immediately available.

The board also approved principal appointments for the coming school year. Kenna Wilson, currently principal at SanLee Middle School, moves to Lee County High School. She replaces Greg Batten, who is moving to become principal at Scotland County High School.

Betsy Bridges, an assistant principal at SanLee middle, will become principal.
