Learning lab lines up summer classes, college visits for teens

Posted May 9, 2016

Not sure what to do with your teens once summer vacation starts? If you're in Wake County, check out the WELL, which sits across from Broughton High School near downtown Raleigh.

The learning lab, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, will have five weeks of programs with topics ranging from math and chemistry to fitness and food. New this year: Visits to local colleges and universities for juniors and seniors who sign up for the program.

The programs are low cost and intended to help students sharpen their academic skills, but also explore untapped interests or try out a new trade skill.

Most workshops cost $35 and run for a half day.

More information is on WELL's website.
