Leak Soaks Dozens of N.C. State Dorm Rooms

Posted March 13, 2008

— A leaking pipe left dozens of North Carolina State University students with a big mess after spring break.

The leak occurred at the Avent Ferry Residence Hall while students were away and affected almost 60 rooms, officials said.

Some rooms were flooded with several inches of water, and students returned to find piles of mildewed clothes and sheets.

University workers on Thursday tried to clean and salvage most belongings.
