Lawrenceville man accused of stealing 351 lottery tickets from Exxon Food Mart

Lawrenceville, GA — A Lawrenceville man has been accused of fraudulently printing out and stealing 351 lottery tickets from a local convenience store.
Sajid Shafiq, 26, printed out tickets for lottery games including Cash 4, Cash 3, Fantasy 5 and the Mega Millions at the Exxon Food Mart on Tuesday at some time before 6:18 p.m., according to warrants. Shafiq reportedly also stole money from the cash register.
In all, he robbed the store of $7,849 worth of lottery tickets and cash, according to warrants.
Gwinnett County police arrested Shafiq and booked him into Gwinnett County jail at 6:18 p.m., according to the jail log. He's been charged with theft by taking and counterfeiting lottery tickets - both felonies.
Shafiq is being held on $22,400 bail.
