Latin journalists talk about job's challenges
Students at Duke University got to hear Tuesday from a number of local and international journalists about the challenges and opportunities of their profession.
Posted — Updated"Journalism at the Crossroads" is organized by the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies and the Forum for Scholars and Publics, with generous support from the Office of Global Affairs and the Hanscom Endowment, all at Duke University.
On the panel where:
Leyla Santiago, of WRAL News, who reported an award-winning documentary about children immigrating from Latin America;
Stephanie Martinez, whose work for USA Network included an expose on "narco journalism;"
Luis Hernandez Navarro, the opinion editor of Mexico's La Jornada; and
Anadalusia Knoll, a freelance multimedia journalist based in Mexico City
