RALEIGH, N.C. — A chance of rain later on Saturday will usher in chilly temperatures on Sunday as spring begins.
A low pressure system moving east into North Carolina will push through the Triangle late Saturday and overnight into Sunday, according to WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth. The system will bring cool air down from the north, causing temperatures to dip into the low 40s overnight with northeast winds at 10 mph.

"We'll have scattered showers this evening, so if you're headed out tonight make sure you have the rain gear," Wilmoth said.

Sunday will welcome temperatures in the upper 40s with occasional light showers or drizzle, according to Wilmoth.

Temperatures will climb by midweek, reaching back into the 70s by Wednesday.
