Last-minute shoppers will enjoy pleasant weather ahead of dry Christmas
The final shopping days before Christmas will largely be dry and pleasant across central and eastern North Carolina as high pressure and a cold front move through the region.

Temperatures will climb into the mid-50s Wednesday after a cold start to the day, and the warming trend is likely to continue Thursday with highs near 60 degrees.
"We'll see lots of sunshine and temperatures at or above normal for the next couple of days thanks to high pressure," WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said.
After a cold front pushes through on Thursday, rain chances will go up slightly on Friday night into Christmas Eve morning, although not everyone will get wet. Highs Friday will cool back down to about 50 degrees.
"This isn't going to be a washout sort of thing, as our rain chances will climb to about 50 percent late Friday night into the first part of the day Saturday," Moss said.
The area will dry out later in the day Saturday, setting up a gloriously pleasant Christmas Day.
High temperatures Sunday will climb into the upper 50s under partly cloudy skies.
The warm air will stay put for the first part of next week, too. Highs Monday and Tuesday will be in the 60s.
