Lantern fest to light up Cary this holiday season
The festival will include more than 20 displays, each one comprised of hundreds of parts, and thousands of LED lights. In addition, Chinese artisans will be performing on weekends.

"Once people experience the gorgeous displays and cultural performances we think this will become an annual event that people will look forward to for many years to come," town parks and recreation director Doug McRainey said in a statement.
The fest will open daily at 6:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday it will close at 10 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays closing time moves back an hour to 11 p.m.
Tickets are $20 for those ages 18 years and older. Those 3 years old to 17 years old can get tickets for $12 each, while children ages 2 years and younger are admitted free. There is a special four-pack ticket deal for $50.
