Kroger Fill the Bus Food Drive inside view

Kroger stores in the Triangle are hosting a food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina on Saturday, 8/15 and Saturday, 8/22. You can literally help them fill a bus full of food to donate!

Right now, many food banks are running low on food or have bare shelves because of the increased demand during the summer. When the kids are out of school, the food banks fill the need for many children who would otherwise not have enough food to eat during the summer.

Triangle residents can help fill that need by filling up a bus — that’s right, a bus — with donations! The next two Saturdays – Aug. 15 & 22 – a Go Durham bus will be parked outside the Kroger at 3457 Hillsborough Road in Durham, where people can come and physically help fill up the bus with as many donated items as possible.

In addition, ALL 14 Kroger stores throughout the Triangle will collect donations on 8/15 and 8/22 help fill the bus and there will be donation boxes set up throughout the week for people to drop off donations at their local Kroger.

Your donations will benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

They are specifically looking for nonperishable food, diapers and wipes, feminine products, hand sanitizers, toothbrushes, soap, shaving products, toilet tissue and paper towels.

When:       Saturday, Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where:       The Bus will be parked at Kroger store at 3457 Hillsborough Road, Durham, N.C. All 14 Kroger stores throughout the Triangle will collect donations and there will be donation boxes set up throughout the week.
