Knightdale woman survives train hitting SUV

Nathalie Frazier, 42, turned onto Fayetteville Road and stopped on the railroad tracks. She told police her music was turned up and she did not see a train coming or hear its whistles, Knightdale police said.

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — A Knightdale woman was injured after the vehicle she was driving was hit by a train Friday afternoon.

Nathalie Frazier, 42, turned onto Fayetteville Road and stopped on the railroad tracks. She told police her music was turned up and she did not see a train coming or hear its whistles, Knightdale police said.

A freight train, traveling west toward Raleigh, hit dragged Frazier’s SUV for about 500 feet.

Frazier was taken to WakeMed with non life-threatening injuries.

No charges will be filed.
