— Police arrested a 40-year-old Kinston man Thursday and charged him with sexually assaulting a 91-year-old woman.

Walter Donell McCray, of 805 Edwards Ave., exposed his genitals near the woman, put his hands on her shoulders and would not allow her to stand up, according to authorities.

A neighbor across the street came out of her house and yelled at McCray, who ran away, according to police.

Authorities obtained warrants for McCray's arrest on Wednesday, and he turned himself in Thursday afternoon. He was charged with sexual battery, indecent exposure and false imprisonment and was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a $1,500 secured bond.

McCray was convicted of misdemeanor indecent exposure in Lenoir County in 2007, according to state Division of Adult Correction records. He has 15 total convictions, including habitual felon, breaking and entering and common-law robbery, and has spent nearly seven years behind bars since 1989.

was lonnie carraway the judge that set the stoopidly low bond?

Interesting. Sexual assault is one of the legal reasons for using deadly force. $1,500 seem rather low for an offense that could invoke deadly force to prevent. Someone has to be pretty hard up, or mentally ill to consider a 91 year old for anything sexual.

WRAL needs to publish the names of these judges that have terrible low bonds of sexual predators and deviants. It will really help me out during election years.

For those who think this guy just has mental problems - this is from the kiston news article on his background.

"A habitual felon, McCray has spent four years in prison since 1990 on seven convictions, inclduing for indecent exposure, felony breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods and resisting an officer, according to the N.C. Department of Correction's website."

Sweeter than pie.......wake up and smell the brain cells.....many countries use whipping to help curb crime and it works.....we don't and look at ours. We say "Poor poor man...must have been beaten as a child" Or his daddy left when he was young....or he was picked on......I am all for whipping, public hanging, caning...anything that will stop crime at this point.....we have lost so many cities in this state to crime we need to do something to get them back.
