Kinston bank robbed

— Police were searching Friday for a man who robbed a Kinston bank.

A man armed with a handgun walked into the First Citizens Bank branch on Plaza Boulevard at about 2:20 p.m. and robbed it of an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The robber was wearing a black jacket, dark jeans and a black knit hat. He was described as 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium build.

    It's very easy to see how someone could become fed up with our corrupt system and decide to grab a few dollars at a bank. A true act of desperation, and if truth be told they would be better becoming a stock broker-lawyer- accountant so they could steal millions with impunity as opposed to risking being shot for $2,000.
