Starting Thursday (June 1), Kidzu will extend its hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays so the museum will close at 7:30 p.m. Plans, right now, are to offer the extended hours through the summer.

Candace King, Kidzu's communication manager, tells me that the new hours come thanks to visitor requests.

"This is in response to members and visitors, who expressed wanting to be able to spend more family time together at the museum, but, as working parents, aren't able to visit other than weekend days," she tells me.

Kidzu is in Chapel Hill's University Place. It's best for babies to young tweens.

The Museum of Life and Science in Durham also is extending its operating hours starting next month. Starting June 4, the museum will tack on two extra hours to its Sunday operating schedule. That means the museum will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily, including Sundays.
