Scaling the rock wall at Kidzu Children's Museum

I love this idea for summer fun, which Kidzu Children's Museum is offering this summer.

The Chapel Hill children's museum has a 4-person summer membership for $65 (compared to $115 for its annual membership). The summer membership includes unlimited free admission between May 31 and Labor Day. Summer members also get free admission to the museum's "Summer Nights" events, which are Thursday evenings starting June 9.

The school year can get busy, so this might be a great option for families who have more free time during the summer months. Normal admission is $7.50 per person for ages 12 months and up (including adults). It would take a little more than a couple of trips to Kidzu this summer for a family of four to cover the expense of the summer membership.

Kidzu also is getting ready to open its first outdoor exhibit in June. The Front Yard: Kidzu's Outdoor Learning Garden will allow growing gardeners to get their hands dirty with some gardening activities and learn all about pollinators.
