Kidzu Children's Museum open late Thursday

Kidzu Children's Museum will stay open until 7 p.m., Thursday, as part of Tar Heel Downtown, a community event that takes place before kickoff for that night's Carolina football game.

Kidzu Children's Museum will stay open until 7 p.m., Thursday, as part of Tar Heel Downtown, a community event that takes place before kickoff for that night's Carolina football game.

The children's museum, great for babies to eight-year-olds and their adults, also will offer reduced admission of $3 for adults and children over 24 months of age from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday. The museum is currently at University Square on Franklin Street.

Also part of the evening at University Square: Bounce houses, a rock climbing wall and face painting, along with live music, the Carolina cheerleaders, the UNC Marching Tar Heel Band and Rameses, along with a live broadcast before kickoff.

Check the Tar Heel Downtown website for more information, including details about shuttle buses. West Franklin Street will be closed to traffic.
