Kidcycle, the big children's consignment sale held twice a year at Durham's Northgate Mall, opens to the public this week.
The sale is a fundraiser for the Diaper Bank of North Carolina. All proceeds from the sale support the bank's efforts to get diapers to children in need. It will be held at the mall, 1058 W. Club Blvd., Durham, in Suite 235 next to Sears.

Here's the public shopping schedule:

  • First-time parents; foster families; military families can shop from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday. Those shopping hours also are extended to the general public as long as they bring a new pack of diapers to donate.
  • 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday
  • 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday
  • noon to 6 p.m., Sunday (when some items are half off)
  • 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., April 30, which is Dollar Day when all remaining items are just $1.
It's a great place to nab some great deals on clothing, toys and gear for children. We have just a few more sales this season before it wraps up (and begins again this summer and fall).
