Marbles Kids Museum and lots of rising kindergartners and their families will mark the start of their school career on Saturday during the annual Kickoff to Kindergarten

It's 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, at the downtown Raleigh museum. The event is free for rising kindergartners and their families. Activities include gym classes, circle times, story time, a pretend cafeteria, a chance to board a school bus, a visit from UNC-TV characters and more.

Experts in nutrition, education, healthy living and more will be at the event to answer questions for parents and lead age-appropriate activities for the soon-to-be kindergartners, according to a press release.

This is a fun way to celebrate the start of school and maybe ease some of those nerves (for parents and kids).

Marbles will be open to the public on Saturday, but know that the focus of all of the museum activities and play will be designed for kindergartners and their families.
