Key shifts in N.C. voter views in new NBC-Wall Street poll

Friday, Aug. 12, 2016: The post convention bounce appears going the Democrats way in North Carolina. Still, a lot can change from now to November.

Democrats seem to have received a major post national political convention bounce, according to the latest NBC News -Wall Street Journal poll of North Carolina voters. Among registered voters, Democrat Hillary Clinton gained four points over the last month and leads Republican Donald Trump 48 percent to 39 percent in the race for president. Trump gained a point since July. Democrat Roy Cooper picked up two points in the last month and leads incumbent Republican Pat McCrory 51-44. Most dramatic, Democrat Deborah Ross, who was seven points behind incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Richard Burr last month, now leads Burr 46-44. Ross picked up five points while Burr dropped four from a month ago.
