RALEIGH, N.C. — Proceeds from sales of T-shirts and other apparel items featuring inspirational quotes from N.C. State's women's basketball coach are benefitting cancer research.

Legendary coach Kay Yow has long waged a public fight against breast cancer. She returned to coaching in January 2007 after two months of chemotherapy treatment for a resurgence of the disease, with which she had been diagnosed 17 years earlier.

Since then, she's undergone further treatment, but continues to stay strong in the fight on and off the court.

The Wolfpack (21-12) lost to Michigan State 58-57 in East Lansing Wednesday in the Women's NIT Final Four.

Fifty percent of proceeds from sales by P.H. Enterprises Inc. go to benefit the Kay Yow/Women's Basketball Coaches Association Cancer Fund.
