Yea, right. The Fay PD doesn't know what body was found in the woods, so they close a case? Get real, folks.

The PD knows exactly who was found in the woods. This is a matter of the article's author either misunderstanding the information made available, or misrepresenting the facts.

The body was not identified TO THE PRESS/PUBLIC, and/or official identification had not yet been made by family/medical examiner. The PD and CID know exactly who it is. It's not a mystery. Hence the closed case.

Bristle is right. When you don't have enough information to write an informed piece, don't write anything at all.

"How can they close a case without identifing the body first???"

    Fayetteville PD at its finest.

The article does not say case closed it says details not released
It said missing person case closed not investigation of body found

How long has this juvenile been missing? I do not remember hearing of this recently. I think it is sad that I work on Fort Bragg and no one around here even knew about this until I read it this morning and I watch the news every morning at 0530 and this was not on there this morning. It is pretty IMPORTANT that there is a dead child and this article is so bare with no information in it. Is this going to be investigated further, who is to blame? Who is the child? What happened?

How can they close a case without identifing the body first??? I wouldn't settle for handling of a case like this, especially if I were that child's mother!

Hmmmm.... No identification, no name nor age.... No other information was released. What a great piece of reporting WRAL!

They have closed the investigation into the missing person part. It does not say how the child died or if further investigations would follow, pending the findings of the cause of death.

Found the body and closed the investigation, that FPD have that crime solved.
