Jury convicts gang members in 2012 Rocky Mount murders
Two Rocky Mount men who police say are linked to the Crips street gang were convicted Thursday of gunning down two men more than three years ago.

Sylvester Ray Andrews Jr., 24, and Trayvon Markell Moody-Powell, 21, were sentenced to two consecutive life terms without parole.
Randy Levon Elliott, 22, and Gregory Demon Freeman, 22, were found wounded in a car outside Elliott's house on Pender Street in Rocky Mount on April 8, 2012. Both men later died at area hospitals.
Police said the car had been sprayed with gunfire from an AK-47 assault rifle and that the killings were part of violent crime spree carried out by Crips members that included other shootings and assaults.
Andrews and Moody-Powell were arrested in July 2013 after an investigation that included state and federal law enforcement agencies.
