Going to grandmas's on Christmas Eve.

My favorite tradition is on the Eve before Christmas day we gather around Papa with hot cocoa and cookies while he reads, "The Night Before Christmas".

One of our favorite traditions as a family is to ride around looking at Christmas lights together. There is something magical about the way your child's eyes light up at all the beauty!

Driving around to look at Christmas lights with the whole family packed into the stationwagon.

On Christmas morning, the children were not to wake Mom and Dad until 7:00am. Until then, they could get down their stockings and go through them. (Santa always put in something that would keep them occupied for at least a half an hour!)Then cinnamon rolls and orange slices were started in the kitchen while the stuff from the stockings was inspected. A quick breakfast was inhaled and then the presents were passed out! My daughter recently told me that the scent of cinnamon reminded her of Christmas morning even in the middle of summer!!!

A simple walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the Christmas lights.

we also have the tradition of having a gingerbread house building contest & the winner receives extra dessert for dinner.

celebrating with my family and seeing their faces when they open their presents

Spending time with family celebrating Jesus' birth..and seeing my kids faces when they open gifts

Christmas lights in the evening. So breathtaking.

gingerbread house, christmas music, christmas movies, cookies, wrapping presents

Traveling to see family

It might sound crazy but our family holiday tradition is to go for a bike ride

baking Christmas cookies and attempting to make a gingerbread house:)

Reading the Christmas story from the Bible before we open gifts on Christmas morning.

spending all Christmas day in our pajamas helping the kids enjoy their gifts.

Singing along to Christmas music with my husband and watching all of the classic Christmas movies.

We do Christmas lights hunting with the kids.

Finding the Christmas Pickle ornament on the tree :)

Spending time with family

setting up a train around the bottom of the christmas tree after the tree has been decorated!

I love when the kids find the pickle that Santa has hidden in the tree.

Vacationing with my brother and his family either before or after Christmas.

Decorating the tree and baking cookies/goodies.

Watching my 3 grandchildren greet Christmas morning with complete awe.

Going to the nativity display in Apex. Also watching Christmas movies with my kids.

My favorite tradition is opening presents with my boyfriend and our little girl on the 23rd. The 23rd is our own night to spend together, and then we have the rest of the holiday to spend with family and friends :)

Every year family and friends get together a week or two before Christmas and bring a $5.00 gift and a dish to pass. Everyone gets a number according to who goes first and so forth. The children are also involved with their own secret Santa. I love it.

Each family member opens one gift on Christmas Eve. It's suspensful and sometimes difficult to choose which one to open!

Favorite holiday tradition is decorating and listening to christmas music while decorating.

An old tradition in my family is Italian Christmas Eve. Getting together with family having a bunch of fish and pasta and watching kids open gifts. New tradition started with me and my husband two years ago. We go to SC to visit his family oN Christmas day watch kids open gifts and than hang around house and family comes over for big dinner at night. We are also start our own tradition this year. A Chaunkkah dinner with both of our families

We all make decorations for the Christmas tree each year together like beaded angels, popcorn strings, cookie cutter decorations.

Just recently moved here from the desert, so the last few holidays we would always go up north to play in the snow. Makes coming back to 80 degree days bearable. Now that we are here in NC, we are hoping to make new traditions!!

Decorating the house.

We have a bunch of appetizers for dinner and open presents on Christmas Eve.

Making cookies and pies.

Riding around looking at the Christmas lights

Picking out a special ornament for our tree every year. My parents started the tradition when they got married & I carried it on when I moved out on my own & then had my own family. Every year when we decorate the tree, we reminisce about each ornament. :)

Baking cookies!!!

We go to the mountains every year over thanksgiving with my parents. And we go to a tree farm and pick out our Christmas tree. We've done this for 15 years now. Cherish every moment with my family!

Our favorite is visiting Meadow Lights each year :)...and ride the train is a must!!!

Opening stockings on Christmas morning.

Baking cookies and trying out new recipes!

Wrapping presents and decorating the Christmas tree!

We go to Meadow to ride the train and see the lights, then we all pick out our favorite candy from the counrty store.

Baking cookies with my kids!

Baking cookies with my mom and spending time with the family.

We are going to start a new tradition this year! We are going to bake cookies and decorate Christmas cards for a local nursing home that is looking forward to our visit.
