Joy it Forward giveaway: Polar Ice House Family 4-Pack!

Looking for something fun to do this season to get your family in the holiday spirit? With this week’s giveaway from Polar Ice House, you can kick off the holiday season with a family four-pack of FREE skating passes valid at four convenient Polar Ice House locations in downtown Raleigh (Winterfest outdoor ice rink), Cary , Garner or Wake Forest .

Enjoy skating at one of the three indoor locations, or join us at the outdoor ice skating rink in Downtown Raleigh from December 1 to January 31 for the following events:

Sledding Sundays (December 16, January 6 and January 27): SnowMyYard.com will create a winter wonderland from 12 noon-4 pm (free with skating wristband).

Two for Tuesdays: Skaters will receive one free admission to the rink with the purchase of one paid admission (includes skate rental).

Workout Wednesdays: Warm up on the rink with some fun exercises.

Date & Skate Thursdays: Free carriage rides with skating wristband from 6 pm-9 pm.

Rock Around the Rink Fridays: DJ and tunes from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

We spend a day all together, just our family, out and about for the holiday. We start with a service project that we've picked out, and then we have lunch as a family and let the kids choose a small gift for each other. We look at lights on our way home and enjoy a day away from all the hustle and bustle of our regular holiday schedule.

I have several traditions that I love to do. My favorite is to bake my Mama's recipe for prune cake. I lost her when I was 23 years old and it makes me feel like she's still with me. I also love to bake cookies with my grandson. My husband and I decorate our house and a real Christmas tree. I love Christmas time!

My favorite Holiday tradition is picking a Christmas Tree with the family and cutting it down. :-)

My favorite holiday tradition is reading bible verses with my kids as to the true meaning of Christmas. As the quote goes "Jesus is the reason for the season".

This is my first Christmas in my new house with my husband and our new tradition is picking and cutting down our own Christmas tree. However growing up my favorite tradition was waking up early to open Christmas presents followed by helping mom cook a family breakfast!

Baking cookies with the family is always a must. When Winterfest started in downtown Raleigh we add that to our traditions of going iceskating and getting hot cocoa :)
