RALEIGH, N.C. — An eaglet that survived a 60-foot fall from its nest near Jordan Lake is malnourished and has anemia and a fractured leg, according to the facility treating the bird.
The Carolina Raptor Center in Huntersville, which took in the big baby bird for rehabilitation after it was treated at a vet center in Raleigh, has set up a website for the public to check on the animal’s condition and donate to medical costs.

The site also displays X-rays of the bird’s injury.

The eaglet was one of two that fell from the nest during a violent storm. The second eaglet did not survive.
